Hi,

I'm having a problem when I tried to write data to transponder type iso14443B,I get the status code 0x05 which is said "Wrong transponder type" in the manual.

This is the list of device and API I m using:

1. FIEG CPR40.30 USB RFID reader
2. FEISC_0xB0_ISOCmd from FEISC.dll

My steps to write data:
1. Call FEUSB_ScanAndOpen to Open USB reader device and return the device handle (Ok)
2. Call FEISC_NewReader to create and return the reader handle (Ok)
3. Call FEISC_0xB0_ISOCmd to inventory the transponder in scan range, and return UID(PUPI for ISO14443B type) (Ok)
4. Call FEISC_0xB0_ISOCmd to select (0x25 in request data) transponder by giving UID (OK)
5. Call FEISC_0xB0_ISOCmd to write multiblock (0x24) data to transponder, the request data format is compliant to the manual. But I got the status 0x05. Check the manual, it represents "Wrong transponder type, the command is not applicable at the transponder" .

But the manual do claim that the ISO14443B transponder supports multiblock write/read command.

Can anyone help me on this case? Do I miss anything before can read/write to a transponder ?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Guys

My project group and I are planning to rig up a automated building for our 3rd project. The Idea is to rig up each door with RFID readers with a range of 1m. Then Depending on direction turn lights and air conditioners off or on.

We run into a few problems here. RFID has a 360 degree scan range. IS there any way to redirect or limit the angel of read ?
The reason for this is to ensure the scanners dont pick up a person going through the door next door. The building is an office type environment

Am i being draft and there is a better way of doing this ?

thanks

Hi,

I thought of trying RFID for my personal use and I need some suggestion on how I can do that because I am very new to this.

Problem is that sometimes I misplace my bike/door key, etc and it wastes 20-30 minutes or more while searching for it. So I was wondering if there is any viable solution for me to tag them and detect their approximate location from a distance of 5-10 feet.

I was thinking of a solution where I can have a "RFID Tag" key chain for the door/bike keys. Whenever I press a button on the RFID reader, either the RFID Reader or the Tag beeps if both are in proximity.

It would be very helpful if anyone can suggest me a solution and also point to some place where I can buy devices that closely match the requirement. Because it is for personal use, I need to be able to buy them in small numbers.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a RFID technology that can do localization at very high precision (millimeters).

The application of this technology would be used to localize the distance of several scientific equipment to the gravity center of a ship. This is for bathymetric mapping.

I wonder if RFID could replace a total station or measuring tape with more accuracy and faster localization.

Thank you very much for your anwser!

------------
Bonjour,

My worry is the characteristic of a near-field tags when I use far field antenna to tag them.

All recommendations are welcome. And I appreciated if you have any suggestion about tag, reader and antenna for this solution.

May we have a deal to deploy this.

RFID based toll gate system

Hi all,

I am planning to design an RFID based toll gate system using rfPIC MCUs for the project and it will require long range detection of RFID tags.

I have listed the following equipment to order from MicroChip:
DV164102 rfPICkit Development Kit 1 from microChip.
AC163028 MRF24J40MA PICDEM Z 2.4GHz RF Board,
AC163027-4 PICDEM Z MRF24J40 2.4 GHz Daughter Card,
MRF24J40MB-I/RM MRF24J40 RF Module and
RFPIC12F675H-I/SS rfPIC ICs - MCU's with RF transmitters

This is going to be very costly. Do I need something else too? Or am I ordering something which is not required for my project?

For 3-5m read range, which frequency range should I work on? And what do you suggest for Tags?

For the toll gates, I will be interfacing a stepper motor to the MCU.

Thanks

firstly ,Add FECOM.bas and FEISC.bas to project , there is the declaration of FECOM.dll and FEISC.dll in VB .
Next , Open the serial port and set serial parameters ,like below :
dim hport as integer
dim hreader as integer
hport=FECOM_OpenPort("1")
if hport>0 then
//open port ok
//set baud rate
FECOM_SetPortPara(hport,"Baud","38400")
//set byte size ,parity ,stop bit

RFID in cabel and wire industry ?!

Hello,

I am new to this forum. My concern is the follwing:

Is RFID already used anywhere in the cabel and wire industry?

That includes the whole value chain (wire drawing, extruding, transport, tailoring).

A possible process could be the monitoring of material by implementing a
RFID-Tag in wire spools/coilers. If that kind of processes are not existing,
is it because of the metal environment or are there other reasons?

I only found the LAPP Groupe (www.lappkabel.de) to implement RFID tags
directly in wires but not in spooles. I hope anyone could help me or
rather knows a company. Thanks very much. Sorry for my poor english :)

modification of a transponder signal with a magnet

Hello,

I'm a newbie in the RFID field and that s why I d like to have your expertise before I start.
I would like to detect when a component composed of two pieces maintained together with a magnet is disrupted.
Since this occurs in a suspension of gas/powder, it s not possible to observe this disruption visually. I tried with hall sensors or electrotomography, but without success.
My idea would be to use RFID. I expect that if I have a tag in each part of the component, their signal would interfer as long as they are close together and no longer as they are separated;
May be I can obtain interferences only using the effect of the magnet onto the tag.

I plan to use LF, because it my tags are in a gas/solid mixture.

Ideally, I would like to observe not only the answer of the reader (yes or no) but the radio signal emitted by the tag.

Does it sound feasible to you? Could you advice me some RFID systems that allow to get more information as described above?

Thx for your kind help!

I student from MARA University of Technology, Malaysia.I do a research using sensor to integrated in RFID tags. Type of sensor that I want to use is moisture sensor. Does anybody here know how to integrate the sensor with RFID chip?are there any programming or configuration that I can do to integrated sensor and RFID chip?
